Make the most of funding opportunities

BTL is an active player in grant assisted research and has formed a number of recent consortia with product developers where BTL’s process expertise will add value. At present we are involved in TSB funded Feasibility Study stage projects in fields as diverse as blood product and collagen scaffolds and at the later Collaborative Research and Development stage in probiotic bacteria. We are also involved in projects in the development of multi directional scaffold structures, bio insecticides and herbicide recharacterisation.

Further afield we are involved in multi national programme for developing a family of innovative diagnostic products funded under the EU’s FP 7 scheme.

Much of the skill in making a successful application for research funding lies in matching the aims of the research and development stage to the relevant schemes and having done this, ensuring that the research lies within the scope of that project. As well as providing technical process development expertise, BTL can also offer a grant funding evaluation and application service on top of involvement as either partner of sub contractor as appropriate.

With only a marginal improvement in the liquidity landscape, and the paucity of equity funding or non asset backed debt, these forms of funding to develop potentially valuable IP assets have never been more valuable. BTL works with TSB calls, EU FP7 and Eurostar schemes, and calls within the i4i network as well as customer commissions.

BTL offers complete solutions for the lyophilisation gateway in terms of analysis, cycle development, formulation and instrumentation and is capable of dealing with small and large molecules, bacteria, GMO’s, nanoparticles, animal tissues etc for a wide range of vaccines, diagnostics and other applications. We are keen invest in further collaborations in all fields.
